I AM THE CURE - Emotional. Memorable. Motivational. I AM THE CURE® is the new rallying cry of the Komen Race for the Cure. The program stresses the importance of positive breast health practices and encourages women to take charge of their health. The program speaks to the importance of early detection - the best defense against breast cancer - and provides simple, action-oriented messages that Race participants can take home and put into practice. If you, or perhaps a group, may be interested in becoming a I AM THE CURE® cureleader (our version of cheerleader), please contact Tamara Krause at tkrause@komennorthflorida.org. The first 150 to volunteer for this area will receive a special I AM THE CURE® t-shirt. Be sure to enter for your chance to win a 4.1” Wide Touchscreen Internet Tablet and a $100 Spa gift certificate by submitting your own chants. Learn more TODAY!

Pledge Program - You can help us reach our goal by collecting donations from family and friends for the Optional Pledge Program. Donations are tax-deductible and participants can win special prizes based upon the amount collected. The top two individual fundraisers will each receive one free airline ticket from American Airlines good for (1) Roundtrip air transportation on American Airlines or American Eagle to any destination in the contiguous US.  Limit (1) ticket per household. Additionally, anyone who raises at least $100 in donations will receive a special Komen Running Ribbon Car Magnet. Be sure to download our new Donation Form to make offline donations even easier! You can also make a copy of our Pledge Form to track all your donations received by check or cash. The Top 50 fundraisers from this year's Race will be inducted into our Pink Honor Roll for 2011 (more details to come).

Kids for the Cure® -  This event will offer children (10 and under) a way to have fun and show support for those in their lives with breast cancer. Activities include clowns,games, goodies, and plenty of surprises, The first 500 children participating will receive a special Kids for the Cure® t-shirt designed by Lily Hixson, a local elementary student. Want to design the 2011 t-shirt? Download an artform and mail it in for a chance to win $100 and free registration to the 2011 Komen North Florida Race for the Cure®!

Sleep in for the Cure® -Be a part of the fun without the run!  If you still want to support the cause, but cannot join us on race day, this program is perfect for you! For $30 you will receive a one-of-a-kind Sleep In for the Cure® t-shirt. Sleep in for the Cure shirts  will be mailed to you by November 30, 2010. Price includes $5 for shipping and handling. Survivor Recognition Wall - Recognize a friend or a loved one that has battled or is currently battling breast cancer. For a $25 donation, we will put his/her name on the jumbo screen during the Survivor Celebration. Be sure to add an inspirational message or special memory to your tribute! You can add this feature to your payment while registering for the Race, or download the form and mail it (with a $25 check or money order) our office at 2950 Halcyon Lane #501, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
