What every woman should know

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. One woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes and one woman will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes in the United States. An estimated 212,920 new cases of invasive breast cancer occurred among women in the United States during 2006. An estimated 40,970 women died from breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the leading cancer cited among American women and is second only to lung cancer in deaths. The most proven and significant risk factors are being female and getting older.
